Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREV. MARTON KEREKES It is with sadness we announce the passing of Rev. Márton Kerekes on October 24, 2010 at the age of 77 years. He spent the last 12 weeks of his life at Grace Hospital where he was cared for with both dignity and compassion by the doctors and nurses of 3 North. He is survived by his daughter Eva Schimmel, son-in-law Hans-Peter Schimmel, and granddaughter Antonia all of Munich, Germany and son Zoltán Kerekes, daughter-in-law Diana Kerekes and grandchildren Alexander and Théa all of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, USA. Rev. Kerekes had been a minister of the Hungarian Reformed Protestant Church from 1958 until his passing. He spent the last 25 years as a practicing minister in Winnipeg, Canada. Prior to that he had a parish in Buffalo, New York, USA after emmigrating from Romania. A celebration of Rev. Kerekes' life will be held at Thomson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Church bells also will toll at that time in the towns of Décse, Romania, his place of birth and Várkudu, Romania, the town of his last parish in Romania. A private family interment will take place at a later date in the U.S.A. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to www.nationalmssociety.com. Rev. Kerekes consistently gave charity to this organization on behalf of his dearest friends and parishioners, Julius and Emilia Csaholczy of Winnipeg, Canada. He was loved in life and will be missed by his family, friends and parishioners.
