DAVID THOMAS FINKLEMAN With great sadness, our family announces the passing of David Finkleman, on October 22, 2010 at the age of 93, at Deer Lodge Centre. David leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 65 years, Reva; his son Allan (Linda); daughter Carol (Jack Lezack); grandchildren, Amy, Benjie, Gary, Lisa, Adam, Tami; and great-grandchildren, Ella, Sophie, Raya, Max, Jack and Bailee. David was born in Selkirk and graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Manitoba in 1940. He ran a successful drugstore, (Canada Drugs) with his partner, Hy Rykiss for many years. Many of his customers were soon his friends. He always had a smile, a Hello and conversation with anyone with whom he came in contact. Upon the sale of his store, he worked as a pharmacist for Medis for several years if only to keep in touch with the profession he truly loved. Eventually, in failing health, he and his wife moved to the Deer Lodge Centre, where he spent the last few years of his life. He continued to offer his friendship and kind words to all of the residents and staff who crossed his path on a daily basis. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff on Tower 5 at Deer Lodge Centre for their kindness and exemplary care to David during his final days. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour David's memory can make a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. (953-4477) or your charity of choice.
