AMRITPAL SINGH GREWAL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful man, Amritpal Singh Grewal. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 1, 2010 at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB. After a six month courageous battle with cancer, his young life came to an end at the age of 39. He was born on July 26, 1971 in Jagraon, Punjab, India. Amrit immigrated to Canada in 1995, first arriving in Abbotsford, BC and then making Winnipeg, MB his home in 1997. Amrit was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Manjit Kaur Grewal; his daughter Neetu; and son Jobin; his parents, Kartar Singh and Pritam Kaur Grewal; his older brothers, Gurinder and Gurmeet Grewal. Amrit spent the last month of his life at the Health Sciences Centre and the family would like to thank the staff for all their help and support. During his tough battle with cancer, Amrit was constantly surrounded by the love and support of family and friends which helped ease his pain. Amrit was known for his loyalty, kindness and genuine love of family and friends. He touched the lives of many, and will always live in our hearts and fond memories. A funeral service will be held in his honour at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Prayers will follow at Singh Sabha Gurdwara located at 4000 Sturgeon Rd., Winnipeg, MB.
