SHIRLEY EDITH SMITH (nee DALES) Peacefully, on November 17, 2010, Shirley Smith passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Gordon in 2000. She is survived by her seven children and their partners as well as 12 grandchildren. She was born May 21, 1927 in Sprlieng, Manitoba to Mabel and Walter Dales. Her early education was in Sperling followed by two years at the University of Winnipeg. She then entered the Children's Hospital Nursing program, graduating in 1949. In addition to nursing, her interests were reading, music, and current medical research. Shirley requested that there be no funeral. A family gathering at the cottage in Belair will be held at a later summer date. In lieu of flowers and/or card donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wish to thank the St. Boniface Surgical ICU staff for all their efforts and care.
