RITMA JUREVICS (nee RUZA) It is with sadness that the family of Ritma Jurevics (nee Ruza) announces her passing on November 14, 2010 at the Victoria General Hospital after a brief illness. Ritma was born in Bauska, Latvia on June 3, 1928. She immigrated to Canada in the late 1940s and eventually settled in Winnipeg. She enjoyed a long career working as an LPN and in her retirement spent many hours in her beautiful garden - it was a labour of love. Ritma was very fond of her family and friends. Those who came to visit were always greeted with a smile and a genuine interest in their lives, along with offerings of coffee and baking. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Leonids. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Dzidra, Edite, Aina (Arnis) and brother Olgerts, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins in Latvia and friends whom she considered family. Respecting Ritma's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a private interment. If so desired, donations in Ritma's memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
