Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERBERT WILLIAM PRICE July 19, 1930 - November 26, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Herbert Price on Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB. Herb is survived by his wife June (Arnold); children, Carolyn (Edwin) Kawaleski and Shelley (Warren) Erickson; grandchildren, Shaunna (Jason) Orbanski, Colin (Elizabeth) Kawaleski, Jodi-Lee (Derek) Kaemingk and Sharayah (Curtis) Moffat; seven great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Bailey, Dominic, Lyndon, Olivia, David and Dafne, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born and raised in the Ashern area and married June Arnold on April 17, 1953. Their life journey together took them from Ashern to Gimli, then to Kitimat, BC and later to Winnipeg and finally in 1967 they settled back in Ashern. Dad worked many trades during his lifetime including welding, heavy equipment operator and trucking. Dad had many passions but his biggest love was his family. Dad loved taking his kids out to The Shack for a ski-doo weekend any chance he could. Grandpa may have had a rough and tough exterior but he was always the first one to ask his kids for a hug and always had a tear in his eye when we had to say goodbye. Herb was very proud of his modest upbringing in the Ashern area and shared his life story with anyone who would listen. In his retirement years, Dad spent many hours sharing stories and wisdom with the guys at Dodd's Siding and Cal's Auto. Through the years Dad invested many hours in the community volunteering at the Ashern Museum, Ashern Rodeo, Horse Club, Grace Lutheran Church and Silver Bay Bible Camp. A legacy that Dad will leave behind is the new one mile road that he constructed at the new Silver Bay Bible Camp location out at Steep Rock. Dad built this when he was 80 years old!! Herb loved life and a good laugh. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Herb's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Ashern Centennial Hall. A private family interment will take place at the Grace Lutheran Cemetery prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Silver Bay Bible Camp, P.O. Box 1592, Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0. Arrangements by ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
