GORDON ROBERT EDWARD ROCKALL 1935-2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gordon Rockall on January 4, 2011 at the age of 75 years. Gordon was predeceased by his first wife Sherrill, his father Albert Rockall, his mother Lena McFarland, step-father Sanford McFarland, his brothers George William, George Henry, Kenneth, Sydney, and Arthur. He leaves to mourn his common-law wife Margaret Spence; sisters Shirley Laursen (Preben), Rose Cosens; his Aunt Ollie and Aunt Pearl; the Spence and Thompson families. As well, he leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as two great-great-nephews, a great-great-niece, and many, many friends in Headingley. Gordon lived in Headingley most of his life. He was born and raised on a farm in the Cardale area. Moving to Headingley in his younger years, after completing school, Gordon tried his hand at many things, from the Bissett mines to the Oil patch, finally working in Winnipeg, than doing odd jobs for the Municipality. He also started his own little business of cutting lawns and Rototilling gardens. Gordon was a very kind, gentle, caring and generous person. He was always willing to help his neighbours, friends and family any way he could. He was a special person with a big heart. Gordie loved to take Sunday drives to Lockport and go to the Half Moon, and travel the country side to explore its beauty. We miss you already!
