CLIVE KENELM RAMPTON
Date of Passing: Dec 31, 2010
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLIVE KENELM RAMPTON On December 31, 2010, after a long and eventful life, Clive left us. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by his wife Teresa, his son Alvyn (Judy), his daughter Corinne (Vince Burleigh), his siblings Sybil, Terry, Ivadell and Elva, his grandchildren Sharlene (Dominick), Brent and Marnie, his in-laws, many nieces and nephews as well as his faithful companions, Clipper and Midnite. He was predeceased by his parents, Basil and Leona and his brothers, Lawrence and Denzil. Clive was born near Craik, Saskatchewan and grew up in Morden. He served overseas during the Second World War with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and the RCAF. On his return, he operated garages in Morden and Winnipeg. At this time, he also built a cabin at Lac du Bonnet where he and his children had the best of times. Clive purchased a fly-in lodge on Moar Lake where, for the next 25 years, he was in his element piloting his floatplane and undertaking amazing building projects. With the indispensable help of Elva and Guent, the lodge became a very special place for guests and staff alike. Clive retired to spend many happy hours woodworking, tending his yard and feeding whatever wildlife happened by. Beneath a gruff exterior, Clive was a kind, good-hearted man who treated everyone fairly and equally. Always industrious and inventive, he was a genius at making do . He had a wry sense of humour and liked nothing better than to tease. We thank Dr. Eric Badenhorst for his kind, respectful care. We owe a debt of gratitude to Selkirk Home Care Susan, Kris, Peggy, Cheryl, Lucy, Elma, Lori, Yvonne and so many others. You helped Clive remain at home and are true heroes. We also thank our friend Judy who did so much for us. As Clive wished, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private gathering to honour his life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wildlife Federation, the Salvation Army or to any charity would be appreciated. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
