JEAN-LOUIS (JOHN) PELOQUIN
Born: Aug 25, 1933
Date of Passing: Jan 13, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN-LOUIS (JOHN) PELOQUIN August 25, 1933 - January 13, 2011 John passed away in Winnipeg, quietly, and hoping that he will be welcomed in eternity by his father Albert, mother Emilienne (Sorin), sister Albertine, younger brother Paul and spouse Helene (Breton), and sister Juliette (Lemire), spouse of Auguste. He is survived by his wife and best friend Norma (Hodge) of 55 years, and mother of their six children: Joel, Jean-Pierre (Linda Smith), (grandsons Graham and Marten), Andre (Angela Reiss), Denis, Raymond, Monique (Joseph Wasowicz) (grandson Christopher). He is also survived by his brothers Jacques (Adele Bremaud), Auguste, and Maurice (Claudette Malo); and his sisters Annette, Cecile, Marie (Jean-Leon Ouimet) and Arlette (George Schamber); and many nieces and nephews. John's passion was to record, both in words and pictures, the family history of his great-grand parents Paul Peloquin and Catherine Antaya, who arrived with their seven children in Manitoba 133 years ago, and their six generation of descendants, whose legacy in Manitoba continues. Memorial Prayers will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neil Bardal Inc. Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave, across from the Brookside Cemetery. It was his wish that no formal funeral service should be held at his time of death. His remains have been cremated and the disposal of his ashes will be done at a time and place chosen by his children. The family wishes to thank Dr. D. M. Miller for his care and support during John's long fight with diabetes and cancer, the Palliative Care Program directed by Dr. Garcias at the Riverview Health Center, and Dr. Hartley at the Grace Hospice. We also wish to thank the nurses and staff at Riverview and the Grace Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 0S6, CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9, the Grace Hospice, 260 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7, or to the charity of your choice.
