Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPENELOPE RUTH STEWART (née OWENS) Penny died on January 8, 2011, in her home. She was born and raised in east-end Portage, one of the big Owens family. After PCI she achieved a BA at the University of Calgary and a Master's in Social Work at the University of Manitoba, working for most of her career as a court-based social worker. She was thrilled with the arrival of her two daughters who were raised in the Oakville area. Surviving are her 14 siblings and her children: Kate (Andrew) and Beth. Cremation has taken place. An informal memorial event is planned for the spring, with details pending. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Bittersweet Ski Club, P.O. Box 659, MacGregor, MB R0H 0R0, or to a charity of your choice.
