ELLEN SNIDAL Peacefully, after a long illness, Ellen passed away in Mississauga on January 7, 2011 at the age of 75. Predeceased by her parents, Jonina and Fridjofur Snidal, her stepmother Kristjana, younger brother Karl Snidal, and sister-in-law Joanne. She will be sadly missed by her daughters and sons-in-law Lia and Joe Veit, Enid and Doug Britton; son Andrew Mosher and his wife Sus. Grieving the loss of their Grandmother are Lia and Joe's children, Emma, Avery, Madeleine; and Enid and Doug's children Kristjana, Stefan and Erika. Ellen will also be missed by her nieces Andrea, Signy and Paula and their families. Ellen grew up on the lake in Steep Rock, Manitoba surrounded by the natural beauty of the area. She had many relatives among the Stefansson and Snidal families in the community. Ellen was very interested in her Icelandic heritage and often reminisced about her life on the shores of Lake Manitoba. Ellen attended Queens University and was a graduate of Montreal General Hospital School of Nursing. Over the years her focus was always on her children and grandchildren and she delighted in her time with all of them. She had many close friends in Winnipeg and Victoria who will miss her dearly. A small memorial service will be held in Mississauga. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Steep Rock.
