Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAY MELINA HORN/CHARTIER November 16, 1917 - January 13, 2011 It is with great sadness the family announces that May Melina Horn/Chartier (nee Dupas) - born in Dumas, SK has passed peacefully on January 13, 2011 in Pine Falls, MB. She leaves to mourn her four loving children, Annette Padley (Garry), Calgary, AB, Marcel Chartier (Sandra), Winnipeg, MB, Gerald Chartier, Powerview, MB, and Lorraine Horn (Rob), Oliver, BC; 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. May was predeceased by her husband and the father of her children, Charles A. Chartier, and latterly, the late Richard (Slim) Horn. In her earlier years she worked in businesses in The Pas, MB along with her husband Charles for many years, before retiring to BC, and California then moving back to Winnipeg. May and Charles loved to sing together in the Church choir, and at large family gatherings where they were always surrounded by music. May's later years were spent travelling in the US before finally settling in Ste. Georges and Pine Falls, MB. In 2007, May moved to Sunnywood Manor where she would spend her remaining years. Here she was very comfortable and made many good friends. May is survived by three sisters, Tillie Shillington, Camrose, AB, Marie Lanches, Kelowna, BC, Angela Fleming, Barriere, BC, two brothers, Marcel Dupas, Vernon, BC and Larry Dupas, Kelowna, BC, sisters-in-law Sophie Dupas, Calgary, AB, Edith Dupas, The Pas, MB, brother-in-law Tony Cope, Vernon, BC. May was predeceased by her parents, Alphonse and Anna Dupas, sisters Cecile Gelineau, Theresa Cope, and brothers, Rosaire, Leo and Fred Dupas. The funeral mass will be held at the Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church in Powerview, MB with Father Grey officiating on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. May's remains will join those of Charles Chartier at the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St., in Winnipeg, MB, Phone 204-925-1125. Sobering Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB at 204-268-3510 is in charge of arrangements. The family sends their very special thanks to the staff at Sunnywood Manor for May's wonderful care over the past several years, and to all her friends for their kindnesses. In lieu of flowers, in May's memory, a donation may be made to Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church, Powerview, MB.
