Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN PHILIP WAGNER September 8, 1936 - January 14, 2011 John, loving husband of Judy (nee Taylor) died peacefully at Victoria Hospital on January 14, 2011 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by his son Mark Philip; parents John and Edith (Leonhardt) Wagner; in-laws Jack and Edna (Giroux) Taylor, sister-in-law Lorraine Taylor and extended family and friends. John is already missed by Judy, their three wonderful daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Robert Kozubski; Cheryl, David and granddaughter Danica Franklin; Lindsay Marie Wagner, and sister Carol Wagner, who he loved and respected with all his heart. Missing him also are many aunts, uncles and cousins from the Wagner and Leonhardt families, as well as Judy's family which includes brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and special friends. John's working life spanned 50 years, starting with the C.C.M. company, and Dominion Bridge, then the heavy construction equipment industry in the parts departments of Powell Equipment, Midwest Diesel, Blackwood Hodge (Parts Manager) and Arne's Trailer Sales. He served the last 11 years at Holy Redeemer and Christ the King parishes, retiring in 2005. He received a Special Volunteer Award in May, 2003 from the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division in appreciation for his dedication in helping the Society achieve its Mission. His favourite pastime was supporting his children in all their endeavours. Recently he got much joy out of spending time with his granddaughter Danica. With good friends he enjoyed a relaxing game of golf, fishing, armchair sports and a challenging game of Scrabble. Together, John and Judy enjoyed life with their family, friends, Parish and lay Marianist faith communities. The family would like to thank the many physicians and specialists including: Doctors Ian Maxwell and James Johnston; Doctors Oscar and Sheila Domke; Dr. S. Zieroth; Dr. Shane Silver; Doctors T. Battad, K. Cavers and Y. Munsamy and all their supportive medical staff for the continuous care given John. Thank you for your dedication to your vocation. Prayers will take place on Thursday, January 20, at 7:00 p.m. at Christ The King Church, 847 St. Mary's Road. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 21 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church, reception following the service. Cremation and private family interment at a later date.
