ALFRED SENEBALD May 24, 1920 - January 18, 2011 Peacefully on January 18, 2011, Alfred Senebald passed away. He is survived by his loving wife Frances (Nee Vlasik), with whom he shared 65 years of marriage; and his children, Carol (Dallas) Allinson, Roger (Paulette) and Jerry (Sherrie); as well as grandchildren, Aaron (Karl), Nicole (Kirk), Jordy (Carrie), Dallas (Cheryl), Shelby and Jake; also great-grand-children, Hunter, Vaughn, Charli, Alexa, Cullen and Austin. Alf was a Second World War veteran. He was a tank commander who's tank was blown up on D Day. He spent several months recovering both in France and also back in Winnipeg. It is after the war that he married his sweetheart Frances and together they started their family. They enjoyed many homes and of course their cabin at Gull Lake. We have many fond memories of being with Dad (Grandpa) at their home and at the lake for both his children and grandchildren. Dad was also a member of the Shriners, which included captain of the patrol, and was later with the Arabian Horses, and then with the ATV's. He was also the manager of the NHL Manitoba Oldtimers. Dad enjoyed various activities including golf, travelling and horseback riding. He loved his animals, including many dogs, his most recent Toby. Visiting friends at the #9 Legion was also something he enjoyed. Dad was a strong charismatic man. He was loved by many and his gregarious nature was noticed by all. He will be missed but his memory will live in our hearts. Special thanks to the staff at 5E at the St. Boniface Hospital for all of their care they gave to Dad. Celebration of Dad's life will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Legion Branch #9, 920 Narin Avenue. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS IN CARE OF: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE, WEST (AT BOND ST.) 224-1525
