GWENDOLYN VIOLET MCLEOD July 4, 1951 - January 17, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gwendolyn at the age of 59 years at her home in Dugald, Manitoba. Gwendolyn will be sadly missed by her mother Violet; brother Keith and wife Terry; niece Darcie and husband Scott Smith; her great-nephews, Mack, Griffin and Carter; and close and special cousin Barb. She was predeceased by her father Glen McLeod (Potsie). Gwendolyn grew up in Dugald and at the age of five, the family moved to New Zealand and Australia for six years before moving back home to Dugald. Her fond memories drew her back to New Zealand and Australia in her 20's. She made some great friends and eventually led her to the Down Under Club of Winnipeg, which she was a member of. Family and family gatherings were very important to Gwendolyn, especially her three great-nephews who were the Sunshine of her life. Every moment she spent with the boys was cherished. Gwendolyn was diagnosed with Cancer in July of 2005 and battled the disease for over five years. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba. A memorial luncheon to celebrate Gwendolyn's life, will be held on Monday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dugald Community Club, 544 Holland Street in Dugald. Interment will take place at a later date at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
