CAROLINA (CARRIE) HYKAWY (nee BOBROWICH) December 9, 1914 January 21, 2011 Aged 96 years Beloved wife of the late William Hykawy; mother of son Gerald and daughter Mary-Ann Bochen (Ron); baba to grandson Brad (Brandy) and granddaughter Kathy Kubay; great-grandmother to Cole, Haley and Kennedy (father Grant Kubay). Carrie was born in Gimli and lived on a farm in the North Foley district. After getting married, Carrie and her husband Bill moved to Gimli where they resided for 26 years. Carrie and Bill moved to Parkdale where they lived until the death of her husband. She lived with her daughter in St. Andrew's for three years prior to moving to Selkirk where she resided for 22 years. At the age of 87 she moved to Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg where she resided until her death. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church with Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. Pallbearers will be Cole Kubay, Brad Bochen, Tim Hykawy, Charlie Bobrowich, Stanley Firman and Victor Dan. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg would be appreciated.
