FRANCES ANNE HLADY It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Anne Hlady on January 22, 2011 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 85. Mom leaves to mourn her children Cliff, Donna and Conard (Sue), nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, her loving brother Cliff Sawchyn (Phyllis) and many special nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her dad John Sawchyn in 1950, her mother Doris (Kentish) in 2002 and grandson Craig Hlady in 1999. Mom was born in Selkirk and grew up in Pine Falls, Manitoba where she had many happy childhood memories. She married Dad (Steve Hlady) in 1945 and lived on the farm in Glenmoor where her three children were raised. Mom moved to Winnipeg in 1971 where she worked as a nanny for the Rosen family, then at K-Mart until her retirement in 1990. Mom was independent and strong-willed and lived on her own until she was hospitalized in mid-December. We wish to thank Mom's friends, especially Joyce and extra special angel Cherie, daughter-in-law Marlene whose love and devotion meant so much to her. Thanks you also to all the caring staff at N1 North, especially Ron who always got a smile out of Mom and truly understood our pain as well as Donna, Leah, Avon, Francisco and Eveata. Mom wanted to include the following My children, the time for me is truly past I have loved you all to the very last Weep not for me, but courage take And love one another for my sake Mom had requested a simple memorial service which will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment of her ashes will take place in a private ceremony at a later date in the Pine Falls Cemetery.
