ALLAN RAMSAY It is with great sadness that the family of Allan Ramsay announce his passing on January 26, 2011 at Concordia Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Alice, his children Roy, Diane (Randy) and Mona, his grandchildren Christine (Zach), Nicole, Raymond, Kevin, brother Revel (Rita) and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Allan was predeceased by his parents Noel and Winifred, and his brother Guy. He was born in Ste. Amelie, Manitoba on May 4, 1931. Allan obtained his First Class Power Engineering Certificate and was employed as the Chief Engineer with the Department of National Defence for many years in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta returning to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1975. In Winnipeg he was the Chief Engineer of Fresh Water Fish Marketing Corporation, Selkirk Mental Health Centre and Best Brand Meats Ltd. His interest in engineering also motivated him to start his own business, Ramsay Refrigeration, which he continued to operate well into his retirement. Allan's passions in life included tinkering with anything mechanical and in the early years hunting, fishing and nature. As he requested there will be no funeral service. A private interment of the ashes will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
