JOSEPH ARMEL DENIS LEBLANC (MIKE) September 5, 1941 - January 22, 2011 It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mike after a brief illness. Mike was born in Notre Dam de Ham, Quebec. At 17 he joined the Canadian Armed Forces, serving nine years. While stationed in Rivers, MB he met and married Brenda Storey in 1967. They moved to Winnipeg in 1969 to raise their family. Mike worked at Mid-West Helicopters for 15 years, then with Transport Canada from 1984 till his retirement in 1998. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda, of 43 years, his son Jean-Marc, daughter Jennifer Leblanc and granddaughter Tiana Northage. Mike also leaves behind his sisters Louisette and Jacqueline Leblanc of Quebec, his mother-in-law Betty Storey, brothers-in-law Don (Lorna) Storey and Ron Storey all of Brandon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Simone Leblanc (1984), his father Donat Leblanc (1985), and his father-in-law Bill Storey (1985). We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital, ICU ward. In keeping with Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Monday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association of Manitoba.
