Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTHUR HEIDBUURT March 20, 1930 - January 28, 2011 The family of Arthur (Ate) Heidbuurt sadly acknowledges the passing of their husband and father on January 28, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Marjory Heidbuurt (Atkins), of 45 years; and his three children, Ruth Skakum, Barbara Heidbuurt and Paul Heidbuurt. Art was born in the Netherlands on March 20, 1930. He was a plasterer in the Netherlands but in Canada worked as a salesman for Niagara Cyclo Massage Equipment. He was passionate about music and played the organ, guitar, trumpet and accordion. Most of all he loved his harmonicas, which he played for his grand-children and at any other opportunity that presented itself. He had family in Holland. His mother Trientje Heidbuurt (Bosklopper), father Arjen Heidbuurt, five brothers and five sisters. As well, he had many nieces and nephews. He continued to love all of his family to the day of his death. He was an ordained minister. His ministry was mainly one of prayer, a passion to which he devoted several hours per day. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment and reception to follow.
