FLORENCE JOAN BELLE MCKETCHEN May 6, 1964 - January 30, 2011 Joan was born and raised in Selkirk and attended / worked for the Association for Community Living her entire life. She was a friendly jokster who loved family dinners, Steeler's Hockey games, fishing, dancing and singing, playing cards, and generally visiting with her many, many friends. Joan was predeceased by her parents George and Florence, who she missed terribly; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is survived by her loving brother Bill (who she adored), his wife Pat; her much loved nieces, Leslie (Brett) Evason, Lindsay; and her one and only little nephew, Erik. Joan was a social butterfly who truly saw the best in all people. She was quick to hug, quick to laugh, and quick to steal your heart. This past year has been a difficult journey for Joan and her family would like to thank all those who made Joan's world a better place to be, especially Jen Cameron, who became Joan's best friend and advocate. ACL management and staff have gone above and beyond to always provide Joan with the best care and companionship possible. Because of your dedication we know that Joan's was a life well lived. A celebration of Joan's life will take place on Thursday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel A private family interment will take place in the spring. Her honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Helgason, Kelly Helgason, Brett Evason, Garth Clemons, and all of her friends at Community Living. Friends so wishing may donate in Joan's memory to the Association for Community Living, or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
