KATHLEEN (KAY) KNECHT On Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Park Manor Personal Care Home, Kay Knecht of Transcona passed away at the age of 95 years. Kay leaves to mourn and cherish her memory her children, son Bill (Pat), daughter Bonnie (Jim) Baxter and son Brian; five grandchildren, Cathy (Stuart) Pierce, Jim (Lorene) Mann-Baxter, Wade, Stephanie and Jackie; six great-grandchildren and her sister, Grace Klimpke. Kay had been employed with Macleod's, which later became Zellers. She had played both the guitar and piano, and also enjoyed cooking, baking and crafts. A true lady who will be dearly missed by her family. Our family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of the staff at Park Manor, for the care and compassion extended to our mother. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street with Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating. In lieu of flowers if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made in Kay's name, to a favourite charity or to S.P.I.K.E. Special People in Kildonan East, 1940 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg.
