Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERNA LYNN Peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Victoria Hospital, Verna Lynn passed away at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband Bill in 1998 she leaves to cherish her memory her children Sharon, Brian (Mary), Bruce (Penny); grandchildren Brad (Theresa), Barry, Tamara, Rachael, Michael, and Emma; and great-grandchildren Kodie and Carrie. She is also survived by her brother Paul (Nancy) Falconer, sisters-in-law Lorraine Lynn and Audrey Irving, and many nieces and nephews. Her sister Eva predeceased her in 1979. Verna was born October 18, 1923 in Swift Current. She married Bill in 1948 in Edmonton. In 1954 they moved to Winnipeg where they spent most of their married life, except for a brief time in Vancouver. Verna was a gifted musician and played inspiring music on the piano and organ at church services, funerals, and weddings from the time she was 12. She was a talented artist and taught art classes for several years, sharing her paintings with family and friends. With a strong Christian upbringing, she had a deep faith and found comfort and strength in God's love. She was a wonderful person who gave unconditional love, support, advice and encouragement and had a great sense of humour. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. C. Lowden and the nurses and staff at the Victoria Hospital. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating.
