JEAN SILK 1923 - 2011 It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Silk at the age of 88, on February 1, 2011. Jean was predeceased by her parents: mother Catherine, father Fred and brother Fred. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her brothers Doug and Gordon (Bert) and sister Barbara (Vancouver), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Above all, Jean's church attendance was a stronghold in her daily lifestyle. She was pleased to be a member of Calvary Temple. Jean was born in Winnipeg, growing up in the West end and attending Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. Her family moved to Norwood in her later years. She was employed by Marshall Wells until her retirement in 1978. For the most recent years Jean lived at Fred Douglas Place where she enjoyed the camaraderie of the dear ladies at the knitting and crafts group. Jean had many fond memories of those years. Auntie Jean will be remembered by her family for her loving devotion to birthdays and never missed one. She loved family get-togethers, travel, music, reading, knitting and supplying all cookie jars with her delicious Scottish shortbread. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Buntain Chapel at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street. We are grateful for the kindness and dedication of the staff at Lions Personal Care Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to a charity of choice. NEIL BARDAL INC.
