Also left to mourn her passing are her brothers-in-law Paul Stangl (Laurie) and Gerald Stangl. Mom was born in Templeton, Iowa on June 3, 1913. In March of 1931 Mom and Dad moved to Canada where they farmed and raised their family. In 1974 our parents moved to Carman where Mom took up Bowling and joined the Horticultural Society's Garden Club. She won numerous ribbons for her flower arrangements and trophies for bowling. In 2006 Mom finally decided that it was time to become a Canadian Citizen. One could usually find her digging in her garden or trimming her flowers. The aroma of fresh baked bread and cinnamon rolls filled her home. When Mom moved to the Boyne Towers she enjoyed the Bingo and entertainment but most of all she loved the singing. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Boyne Lodge where Mom spent the last two years. They are the most loving and professional caregivers. Prayers will be said from Doyle's Funeral Chapel in Carman on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fannystelle, MB at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011. Interment will follow at the family plot in the Elm Creek Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Carman Memorial Hospital Palliative Care, or to a charity of one's choice.
