HEATHER BELLE GUEST 1965 - 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Heather Belle on Thursday, February 3, 2011. She is survived by her parents Pat and Ed Guest, her brother David, her godfather Gordon Goodbrand, her close friend (and family member by acclamation) Tara Roberts and nephew Spencer Roberts. Heather will also be sadly missed by her furry friends Squiggles and Spike. Heather was predeceased by her younger brother Ian Arthur at age five; we hope they are together now swapping stories! Heather was born in Hamilton and lived in Ottawa, Windsor and Sydney prior to arriving in Winnipeg at the age of eight. She attended school in St. James prior to completing studies at the Professional Musicians College (Voice), the University of Winnipeg (B.A.) and the University of Manitoba (LLB). Throughout her life Heather had a strong interest in the arts and shared her passion while working with various arts groups in the city including Dance Manitoba, the Winnipeg Music Festival, the Performing Arts Consortium and Pantages Playhouse Theatre. In addition, Heather enjoyed participating in dance, music and theatre performances. Heather had a full and happy life with many great friends. Her dream was to become a lawyer. After receiving her law degree she was excited to be offered an articling position with the law firm Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP, and was employed there at the time of her passing. For several months Heather stayed with her dearest friend Tara Roberts, to whom her immediate family expresses immense gratitude, before moving to the Grace Hospice where she lived until her passing. The family wishes to thank Home Care and the Grace Hospice staff for their wonderful care and support of Heather over the last few months. At Heather's request, cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will take place at Chapel Lawn on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website at www.chapellawn.mb.ca Chapel Lawn 885-9715
