SCOTTIE MELVIN DEMERIA 1931 - 2011 It is with great sadness as we announce the passing of our husband, brother, father and grandfather on February 8, 2011. Scottie was born and raised in Lac du Bonnet, MB, moving to Selkirk in his younger years. As a young man he tried numerous occupations but finally found his calling as a truck driver. He became an owner operator and for 53 years drove continuously, even after retirement he still kept his hand in driving during the summer. Scottie was happiest going down the highway with his fiddle music playing on the radio. Scottie was predeceased by his wife Ruth Roberta and is survived by his friend Carol Smith; sons Randy (Sandra), Blake (Janice), Irwin and Lionell; daughter Beverley; stepsons Robin (Nadine), Sean (Mikey); brothers Keith (sister-in-law Terrie), Frank, and Glenn (Edith); sisters Norma (Gerry) and Jane (Frank), as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to very special friends, Selkirk General Hospital doctors and nurses and Betel Home Support Staff for their care and support. In accordance with Scottie's wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no formal service. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
