Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES WALTER HOGG Peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre with family and friends by his side after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Better known as Jim or Jimmie to his friends, he was born in Pipestone, Manitoba on January 11, 1925, the youngest of six children. He together with his widowed mother and five siblings moved to Swan River in the early 30s and there he received his education. He joined the R.C.A.F. and spent a year in England before returning home on the hospital ship Leticia. Most of his working years he was employed in the trucking industry for Swan River, The Pas and C.N.R. Retiring in 1988, Jim was a member of the Guards Association of Canada, Heather Seniors Golf and Curling Clubs and a member of Fort Garry Legion #90 for 60 years. Golfing and curling were his passion but he also enjoyed watching the Blue Jays on television. He was a quiet man of few words but had a great sense of humour and quick wit. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and three brothers. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Marie and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at a memorial reception on Saturday, February 19 between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Sincere thanks to all our friends, family, neighbours, palliative care nurses and Riverview staff for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 44 Hurst Way, R3T 0R3. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
