Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATEO (MATTHEW) MIR On February 9, 2011 after a prolonged illness, Mateo, beloved husband of Antonia, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at 81 years of age. Mateo was born October 19, 1929 in Mallorca, Spain. He was survived by Antonia, his wife of 63 years, his brother Pepe (Maria) and sister Antonia, his three daughters, Mary (Dick) Cairns, Frances (friend Rick) Desautels, Carmen (Gerald) Lambert, his grandchildren Michael (Ann), Jackie, Natalie (friend Justin), Matthew, Charlie, Joshua and Jordyn; three great-grandchildren - Declan, Kate and Claire. He was predeceased by his parents Mateo and Maria, his brother Juanito; his in-laws Jose and Antonia Esbarranch. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., on Monday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to St. Boniface Palliative Care.
