VICTORIA SHALAPATA 1927 - 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria Shalapata (nee Truss) at Seven Oaks Hospital on Sunday, February 20th, 2011. Victoria is survived and deeply missed by Michael Shalapata, her loving husband of 57 years. Victoria was born in Winnipeg, the youngest child predeceased by brother Edward and missed by older sister Stephanie Mills. Aunt Vicki is dearly missed by her nephew Robert (Diane) Mills, nephew Terry (Dorothy) Mills, niece Linda Truss-Baron (Matthew Baron), nephew Walter (Ruth) Subczak, nephew Brian (Lynne) Meyer, niece Brenda (Larry) Marquardson. She is also missed by several close family members Bernard and Hattie Mills, Maggie Lawrence and family, many great-nieces and great-nephews and many others who knew and loved Victoria. Victoria lived in Winnipeg for her whole life. On completion of school and business college her working career started in the insurance area and progressed into a position with the Winnipeg School Division from where she retired. Victoria was active and volunteered at the Holy Family home for several years and she and Michael enjoyed many years of activities participating at the North Centennial Swimming Pool. Our heartful thanks is extended to the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital and Winnipeg Home Care Services for their professionalism and compassion at this time. A memorial service and celebration of Victoria's life will be announced at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Victoria's memory to the Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, R2W 1T9.
