TRENTON CLAUDE SCOBIE 1922 - 2011 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa T. Claude Scobie (T.C.) on February 15, 2011 at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 88. Claude was predeceased by his loving wife Florence in 1996. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Diana (Clive), son Brian (Lee), grandchildren, Brad (Kelly), Matthew, Ben (Anissa), Corey (Kristi) and Jana (Derrick), great-grandchildren, Tristjan, McKinley, Jace, Madison and Dexter. Claude was born in Neepawa, MB on August 10, 1922. He was proud to serve his country in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1939 to 1945 as a telegrapher on several ships in the North Atlantic convoys. He married his childhood sweetheart Florence (Robertson) February 20, 1943 and they were together for 53 wonderful years. He spent his working career with Canada Post as Post Master in Emerson and Morden, MB. Following retirement, Claude and Florence became snowbirds and spent 20 enjoyable winters in Alamo, Texas. Claude was a very active community member in Emerson, coaching hockey, serving the United Church, Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge, member of Eastern Star, the School Board and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion. One of his real pleasures in life was to nurture his grandchildren, attending their various activities and preserving those memories on his video camera. Over the years, Claude was most delighted to meet and hold his great-grandbabies. The family extends sincere gratitude for the excellent care he received at The Waverley, The Rosewood and Deer Lodge Centre. A celebration of Claude's life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden In care of arrangements, 822-4755 www.wiebefuneralhomes.com
