Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE LAVALLEE August 15, 1917 - February 19, 2011 Peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the age of 93 years, George, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at Betel Home, Selkirk. George is survived by and will be greatly missed by his loving wife Vera; daughter Wendy (Elgin Gromnisky); son Bob (Diane); seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; also four sisters; three sisters-in-law; one brother and two brothers-in-law. George served in the army with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles from 1940 to 1944. On his return to Canada, he farmed in Starbuck for over 40 years. In 1988 he and mom retired to Selkirk where dad could do what he liked most, fishing on the dock. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Zoppa and the wonderful staff at Betel Home. George requested that no commemorative service be held. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a further date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Betel Home, 212 Manchester Ave., Selkirk, MB R1A 0B6, or a charity of your choice.
