Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • A true gentleman and a true inspiration to his students. Because of his mentorship and tutelage, I applied for and was accepted into the University of Manitoba MBA program. Without him suggesting that I do so, it would have been outside of my expectations. Well, that led not only to an MBA, but to a law degree, and to numerous other professional accreditations and to a multi-faceted career in a number of different areas. It all starts somewhere, and for me, this gentlemen was such an inspiration. May he rest in peace. Nowhere in his tributes, to my knowledge is the contribution he made to nature. As I recall, he was a professional consultant to Ducks Unlimited, an organization that to today has the objective of preserving our wildlife heritage. I can only hope that the ducks also appreciate his contribution to their welfare. - Posted by: Raymond Hall (Student) on: May 17, 2022

  • I became an I/O Psychologist and as a result a professor in a Business school. That job plus the consulting I did made for the most interesting job in the world as far as I am concerned. This all happened because of Dr. Yunker. I took a few courses from him at the U of Winnipeg and became enamoured with the discipline. He wrote the main letter of reference for me to get into Grad School. I always considered him my first real university mentor. I was in the same classes as you Barb and you have my deepest condolences. We had some good times way back then at the U of Winnipeg which I will always remember fondly. - Posted by: Dr. James Thacker (student) on: Mar 10, 2012
