Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFRED ROBERT WILLIAM CHALMERS Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Beloved husband for 63 years to the late Dorothy Chalmers. Loving father of Kathleen (Wayne) Williams, Anne (Mark) Hartley and Patricia Chalmers (Mark Sawyer). Proud grandfather to Johan (Steve) Bowes, Robert and Craig Williams, Paul and Dean Hartley and Tricia Bella (Sasha Ilic). Great-grandfather to Owen and Braeden Bowes and Gemma Ilic. Growing up in Winnipeg, Alfred chose to serve in the Navy during the Second World War, spending most of the war, as an asdic operator on the Q113. He was employed for over 40 years with the T. Eaton Company as a buyer and merchandise manager. He was a true and loyal family man. His hobbies included bird breeding, dog rearing and gardening. A celebration of his life will be held at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE, 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga (Dixie Road, two lights south of Eglinton Avenue, 905-602-1580), on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. (cremation).
