ALLAN WATSON WEST It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Allan West on March 5, 2011 at the age of 88 at the Concordia Hospital. Allan is survived by his wife Peggy (Margaret McLean), son Allan (wife Penny) and granddaughter Jena. Also left to mourn are his family residing in Scotland. Allan was born on October 2, 1922 in Ayshire, Scotland. He moved to Canada in 1950 to work as a blacksmith with C.N. Rail. Allan raised his family in Transcona where he enjoyed gardening, welding, curling and fishing. Allan loved going to Brereton Lake with his family and later moved to Lac Du Bonnet where he spent his retirement years fishing. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Humane Society. Thank you to all the staff and Home Care, the staff at Concordia Village and the doctors and nurses at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion.
