ANTOINETTE KENYON (nee Barthelette) On March 7, 2011 with her family by her side, Ann passed away peacefully. Our mother was born in Marchand, MB., and was one of 13 children to Victor and Alixena Barthelette. In her younger years of marriage, she was fortunate to reside in several provinces in Canada before settling in Winnipeg to raise her four children, Don, David (Shirley), Sherry Ann (Bob) and Shelly-Anne (Doug) and later to become an active part in the lives of her grandchildren, Krystle Ann, Lee-Anne, Graham, Klifford and Lance. Mom was very proud to be a great-grandmother to her cherished little Ava Ann (daughter of Krystle). Our mom was easily recognized by her hair and white jacket and could always be seen on Logan talking with one of her many friends and usually waving at another passing by. We're certain the city transit drivers and local merchants will also miss her daily encounters. Mom had a love for animals and, until the day she passed, she would reminisce fondly of her pets as a child, the ones she allowed us to have growing up, and her cat who was at her bedside during her final hours. Her favourite daily activity was getting up early, packing some treats, and making her rounds to her favourite dogs in the neighborhood, ending her walk at her daughter Sherry's house where she would spend endless hours caring for her animals. Our family would like to send a special thank you to her dearest friend of many years, Paul, her close friend Beverly, and to all her friends she talked about but we didn't have the opportunity to meet. Thank you for making her laugh. As per our mother's wish, a private family gathering has been arranged. In lieu of flowers, donations in Antoinette's memory may be made to Winnipeg Humane Society. Mom we love you and will especially miss your strong will, independence and feisty personality.
