MADELINE BYRNES It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Madeline Byrnes (nee Thornber) on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the age of 90 years. She will be sadly missed by her two children: daughter Carolyn Tourner and son Gregory Byrnes (Bev Knight); her seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and two sisters, Thelma Stockton and Joy Colbert. Madeline was born on December 31, 1920 in Craigmyle, Alberta. She married her husband Vernon Byrnes in 1939 in Winnipeg where they both resided for many years and had their two children. Madeline was predeceased by her husband Vernon in 1990, son-in-law Tim Tourner, sister Berna and brothers Garfield, Chuck, Buddy and Russell Thornber. The family would like to thank the wonderful friends and people who live at Richmond Gardens where Madeline resided for 17 years and to the staff and residents of Concordia Place Care Home. Funeral services will be held at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow.
