MICHAEL (SMITTY) SMITH 1956 - 2011 Peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2011, Michael Smith passed away in Winnipeg. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre (across from Brookside Cemetery). You are gone too soon, Mike, but you will live on in the memories of those of us who shared the west coast experience with you from the 1980s to the 1990s. Know this: we valued always knowing where you stood, and what you stood for. Rest assured we will gather some time soon to retell the tales and hoist a few in your honour. I have just found out that a dear friend, a road companion, a raconteur of the highest order and our very own Dean Moriarty passed away on March 18, 2011. We had not seen each other in a number of years but there always was a bond. Miss you buddy and when you are seated at the big table make'em pay.
