Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIDNEY MYRON KERN Sidney Myron Kern passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles, CA, on March 13, 2011. Sidney was born in Regina, SK on July 4, 1925, and resided in Winnipeg before moving Los Angeles in 1938. After his service in the Second World War, he graduated from U.C.L.A. and pursued a long and successful career in the import/export business. Following his retirement, he and his loving wife of 18 years enjoyed traveling, volunteering for charitable organizations, playing bridge and watching their orchids grow. They took pride in how successfully they blended their two families. Sidney, while predeceased by his father, Max Fredkovsky, his mother, Mildred Kern, and his sister Irene Udow, is survived by his wife, Shirley, and their children, Karen Kern, Jay (Ellen) Marmer, Leslie (Jonathan) Davidson, and Barbara (Dale) Joyner. He leaves eight grandchildren: Michael Jenkins, David Marmer, Andy Marmer, Robin and Jonathan Berry, Brian Davidson, Ian Joyner and Alec Joyner. His warm hugs will be missed by all who knew him.
