DAVID WEST Peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2011, David passed away quietly at the age of 73. David was born on August 21, 1937 in Winnipegosis, Manitoba where he spent his first five years and then later moved to Winnipeg with his parents. David was very proud of his 30 plus year career with the City of Winnipeg Works and Operations Department as an operator driver. After David retired, he enjoyed many trips to Mexico and often made friends along the way. The boys also remember the many tent-trailer camping trips around Manitoba. David took pride in his sons, often relating humorous stories of when they were young. In later years, David enjoyed spending summers at the lake where he kept a seasonal trailer. David was predeceased by his parents Frank and Sophie West. He is survived by his sons Glen (Darlene) and Ian (Sharon), grandchildren, Harmon (Caroline), Mason, Rose, and Sara, his sister Pat (Peter) and nephew Geoff, niece Jackie, and great-nephews Justin and Calvin. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at the Red River Care Home for looking after dad and making him comfortable. As per David's wishes, no formal service will be held.
