JAMES NAPIER HOLMES After 91 wonderful years, Jim passed away surrounded by his loving family. Jim is survived by his best friend and wife of 63 years, Edna; by his daughters Diane (Jon) and Cathy (Trevor), his special granddaughters Jill, Amy, Megan and Lauren, his brother Len (Joyce) and nieces Lynn (Bob) and Carol (Brian). Jim was born in Winnipeg in 1919 and moved to Vancouver in 2003 to be close to all his girls . Jim loved many things; laughing, dancing, candy and Crown Royal, but most of all he loved his family. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all. A celebration of his life will be held in Vancouver at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, North Vancouver, BC, in care of Palliative Care Ward.

  • Jim was like a father to me in the early part of my career at LithoColor back when I started fresh out of art school in '76. I remember he and Edna invited us to their home on Clifton in late 1979 to look at their holiday photos of Hawaii. He did this knowing my wife Cathy and I were planning a holiday to Hawaii as well and wanted to give us some insight and of course tips on where to go. He helped teach me airbrushing, I think to help lower his workload. I still have the airbrush he gave me almost 40 years ago. A real gentleman, super talented artist, a mentor and true friend. God bless - Posted by: Doug Coates (co-worker) on: Nov 22, 2018
