Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBONNIE HAMILTON (nee Beachell) January 5, 1949 - April 6, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bonnie on April 6, 2011 at the age of 62 years after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at the Stonewall Hospital with her family by her side. Bonnie will be sadly missed by her husband of 39 years Grant, her daughters Lynn (Paul) and Dawn (Colin) and her grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Jonathan, Taylor, Ashley and Jordan whom she cherished so much. She will be greatly missed by her father Alan Beachell (Laurie), brother Laurie (Judy), brother Jim (Arla), sister Lee (Ian), sister-in-law Valerie, and her six nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Doris Beachell, and her mother-in-law Marjorie Hamilton. Bonnie was born and raised on the farm at Rosser, Manitoba where she enjoyed an active childhood and busy youth. She was very involved in the 4-H club and was able to do some travelling through this. Bonnie later went on to nursing school to become a Registered Nurse and enjoyed a career that lasted 40 years, she spent most of her time nursing at the Stonewall hospital. She loved being a nurse and met many wonderful friends through her career. Bonnie and Grant were married in 1972 and she moved to the farm at Warren. She loved the farm and enjoyed being involved in everything that went on. It was here that she raised her daughters and helped Grant manage his farming operation. Bonnie enjoyed a wide variety of community activities. She was involved in all of the girls activities from ringette, hockey, basketball, track and baseball. She also enjoyed curling and being an active member in the Lions club. She was also very involved in the Warren United Church and was on various committees throughout the years. The church was very dear to her heart and she loved all the years that she spent involved in her church activities. Bonnie enjoyed the many family vacations that she took throughout the years from camping to skiing while the girls were young and this interest continued on and Bonnie and Grant travelled with their friends and enjoyed their yearly skiing trips to the Rockies. She also enjoyed the many camping trips they took throughout the years. She cherished this time with her friends and the adventures they had and the memories created. One of Bonnie's most precious memories was being a grandma. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved the time she spent with her grandchildren here at the farm and the road trips out to McAuley. She loved playing with them and sharing in their laughter. As she went through her long battle with cancer her grandkids brought joy and happiness to her days. Bonnie surrounded herself with people and activities and in doing so, she had many special friendships throughout the years. She was always there to help others, she was a true friend. She was a very caring and kind person who always had time for others. Interment will take place on Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Warren Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Warren United Church, Warren, MB R0C 3E0. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Stonewall Hospital and the many friends who cared for Bonnie with such compassion and kindness over the past few months.
