DAWN LAURA CORBET October 27, 1938 - April 5, 2011 After a courageous battle with Parkinson disease for over 20 years she finally lost her life. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Gudrun Beattie of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She leaves to morn her loving husband Keith, son Todd (Helena), son Scott (Karen) and four beautiful grandchildren Todd (Benjamin and Nicolas) and Scott (Colten and Mason). Dawn met the love of her life Keith Corbet in 1963, married later that year on October 5, 1963 and were happily married for just over 47 years. She was an amazing Mother and an even better Grandmother and will be missed greatly. Graduated Daniel Mac High School in Winnipeg and went on to take her secretarial diploma at the Red River Community College in Winnipeg. She then moved with her family from Winnipeg, Manitoba to British Columbia and lived on Vancouver Island, living in both Duncan and Nanaimo. In Duncan she worked for the Cowichan Band office where she was a secretary for over ten years. Dawn loved sports and enjoyed curling, golf, tennis and many other sports during her life. Her favourite sport was curling and she enjoyed not only playing but also watching it whenever she had a chance. The Corbet family would like to thank the staff and friends at Nanaimo senior village for all they did to make the last few years as comfortable as possible for her. Dawn finally lost her battle with Parkinson's disease April 5, 2011. She will be missed and loved always by all her family and friends.
