RUFO CABANAL Rufo Cabanal died peacefully after a courageous battle with Cancer on April 6, 2011 in Winnipeg, MB. He was born on November 28, 1935 in Jaro, Iloilo, Philippines. Predeceased by his parents, Concepcion Jalandoni and Romualdo Cabanal; Ruffy is survived by his spouse, Lita; his children: Rommel and Elizabeth and their son Mateo; Leo-Rex; Norman and Kristel Pastorin and their children Scarlette and Xavier. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends here, in the Philippines, and abroad. After Ruffy and Lita were married, they decided to start a wonderful life together in Canada. In 1974, they moved to Winnipeg to begin their journey. His career as a machinist with Bristol Aerospace spanned until his retirement. Ruffy and Lita were active in their church as well as avid bowlers. His greatest pleasure was received when spending time with his family. A celebration of Rufo's life (Lamay) will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB, on April 10 and April 11, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until midnight. The funeral rites will be held at St. Peter's Church, on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Msgr. Samson officiating. The interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. A reception will follow in the St. Peter's Parish Hall, 748 Keewatin Street. The family extends their thanks.
