FRANK WILKINSON Peacefully on April 7, 2011 with family by his side, Frank Wilkinson, beloved husband of Edna, passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 92 years. He will be missed by Edna, his wife of 62 years, two daughters Pat Wright (Larry) and Lynn of Vancouver and three grandchildren Craig, Kelly and Tracey. He was predeceased by his brother George and his wife Lil and parents Percy and Roonie. Frank was born and raised in Winnipeg and put in 43 years of service with the CP Railway; never losing his passion for the trains (of which he amassed hundreds of pictures). In 1941 he joined the RCAF and served for five years, the greater part of his service being overseas. This is where he met Edna, also in the Air Force and they married in 1948. He and Edna spent many happy years together, and enjoyed many travel experiences before and during his retirement. He was an avid baseball fan, keeping scrapbooks of his favourite sport for over 60 years. He also had a passion for gardening. He loved walking and exploring different places, rarely missing a day, even continuing his own form of speed walking with his walker. He was a quiet gentle soul who was always there for his family. For the past seven years he resided at Deer Lodge Centre due to his advanced Parkinson's making the best of every moment without complaint and continuing to be active as long as he was able. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Tower 6 at Deer Lodge Centre for all their care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 7-414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2 or Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg MB, R3T 0R3. We will miss your smile and sparkling blue eyes. Rest in peace. Bardal Funeral Home & Crematorium 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca
