HUBERT CLARE FRANCIS FLOOD Hubert Clare Flood passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2011. Hubert was born on June 6, 1922, in Forget, SK, the son of Patrick and Catherine Flood. Left to mourn his loss are brothers, Leo and Don (Joan); sisters, Mary Nairne and Patricia McKenzie; and sisters-in-law, Mary, Bonnie and Bernice Flood. Hubert was predeceased by brothers, Harold, Morgan, Joseph, Vincent (Alma), Gillis (Frances), Al (Anne); and sister-in-law Lyla. Hubert grew up in Forget and attended school at the academy there. He then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the unique College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, SK. His ambition was to be a teacher, but before his dream was realized, unfortunate circumstances compromised his health and he was unable to reach his potential in life. Hubert later lived in Brandon, Winnipeg and Selkirk. Material things did not matter to Hubert. In his true nature he was honest, gentle and generous. He was happy on long walks, coffee breaks and visits with relatives and friends. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
