JOSEPH HUGILL WATSON January 17, 1927 - April 10, 2011 After a courageous battle with cancer, Dad passed away peacefully at home with family by his side. Joe was predeceased by his loving wife Doreen (Freda) Watson (nee Romans) October 5, 2010 and his sister, Francis. Joe is survived by sons, David (Kim), Glenn (Susan), Barry (Gwen) and, daughter, Nancy (Don) Neumann, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. He was looking forward to the arrival of his seventh great-grandchild in May. Joe had a great love of adventure. He loved to teach and pass on his wisdom and skills. During his lifetime he taught multiple generations how to swim, ski, drive and fly. Joe was an accomplished pilot who held private pilot, gliding and ultra-lite licenses. He worked for 29 years as an air traffic controller. He enjoyed travel with his family and in later years with Doreen. Joe loved his motorcycles and music and will be forever remembered by his family singing and playing his guitars for all he loved. In the later years, Joe and Doreen were well known fixtures on the streets of Selkirk walking hand in hand, sporting their matching Westside Honda baseball caps. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Lehna for all the love and happiness that you gave Dad during the last years of his life. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CancerCare or Parkinson Society Canada.
