PHYLLIS KATE BURTON ROOS It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Phyllis Kate Burton Roos on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2004 after 59 years of marriage. She was greatly loved and will be missed by her children, Lynn (Jim) Horne, Derik (Deanna) Roos and Robert (Brenda) Roos. She was very close to her grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Harbaruk, Amber (Dennis) Piva, Jared (Karen) Roos, Kristen Roos, Katryna Roos and Robbie Roos. The apples of her eye were her great-grandchildren, Jackson Fernie, Tyler Fernie, Elizabeth Harbaruk, Alexander Piva, Isla Roos, Taeo Roos and Keira Roos. Phyllis was born and raised in Winnipeg, moving to Kamloops with Bob in 1987. She worked hard for her church; St. Stephen's Anglican in Winnipeg and Hills of Peace Lutheran in Kamloops. She resided at the Hamlets in Westsyde where she received excellent, loving care from the staff who were her second family and who will miss her. Pastor Brian Krushel will conduct a Memorial Service at Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, 695 Robson Drive, Kamloops, BC (250-828-2221) on Tuesday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. Refreshments, courtesy of Hills of Peace Altar Guild, will follow. Should friends desire, donations to the Hills of Peace Memorial Fund, in care of the church would be appreciated in her memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Schoening Funeral Service
