GILBERT (GIL) ALARIE March 9, 1946 - April 27, 2011 Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, brother is at last at peace after a long hard battle with cancer. Wishing him farewell is his loving wife and best friend of 40 years Barbara (nee Schneider), sons Kevin (Janet), Brent (Aimee), Tim (Nikki). His pride and joy, his grandchildren Haley and Madison, Taylor and Riley and new addition Grayson. His father-in-law Maurice Schneider, His special moochers Dixie and Ophers, his family and chums . Gil (the Weld man)'s work has taken him to many places such as Tuktoyaktuk and Africa. He was a man you could not forget with his brightly patterned hats and blunt, honest presentation. He, like his father, loved to be in his shop where he was an inventor, tinkerer, mentor, and friend. His motto was why buy it if he could build it and if he did buy it he could always make it work better. He liked visits from his friends and was eager to show off his latest creation. He would not have made it long enough to see his new grandson if it was not for the great care givers at Cancer Care and Pine Falls Hospital (His little chipmunks). Our support team of Jeanne and Bob, Marilyn, Dolores, Paul, Simone and Allen and Bernice. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes, homemade soups and buns, fruit baskets and food and flowers. As per Gil's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Our family encourages donations to CancerCare, Canadian Blood Services and Pine Falls Hospital. I had the pleasure of working with Gil in the Diesel shop at Tanco. He was a very talented man and well respected by all that had the pleasure of working alongside him. - Posted by: Ron Hoffman (friend and coworker) on: Jun 07, 2019
