WILMET BRUCE (LAMB) April 22, 1930 - April 29, 2011 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing into eternal life of our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Wilmet was predeceased by her loving husband Alex; son Robert; and daughter Karen; and her parents, Wilfred and Ida Mae. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Stan (Betty), Dave (Liz), Kathleen (Gary), Heather (Tim), Jimmy; sister Alecia; grand-children and great-grandchildren. She also leaves numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She had a special place in her heart for Kieran Moore. Mom grew up in Swan River, MB. She was a Brownie, a C.G.I.T. girl, and a Girl Guide and was the first girl in Manitoba to receive her Gold Chords. She taught school in 1948. In 1951 she married Alex the love of her life. They were married for 27 loving years. She served on the Board of Directors of the Louis Riel Chalet for 31 years. She was a founding member of St. Emile Catholic Women's League. She was an Associate of Missionary Oblates. She was always concerned with the well-being of others. She enjoyed many crafts and gardening. One of her great joys was serving as a volunteer at St. Boniface Hospital. The family wishes to thank all the dedicated family and friends that kept her company throughout her illness, St. Boniface Hospital for their care and special thanks to Laura Dacquay, Nettie Bruce, Antoinette Vouriot, Gertrude and John Hagman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital or charity of your choice. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at St. Emile Church, 556 St. Anne's Road at 10:00 a.m. with reception at St. Emile Hall followed by interment at Green Acres Cemetery.
